It's been less than a year since Egypt's military removed the country's first democratically elected leader.
And now the man who led that coup, Egypt's defence minister and armed forces chief has resigned and says he will run for president.
In nationally televised address, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said he was responding to a call from the people.
