The ratings battle between Late Night TV stars, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon is ongoing, although the latter funnyman seems to be pulling ahead. Kimmel is being rather polite about the current favoritism towards Fallon but he did recently mention one gripe he has with him.
Kimmel said their shared first name is the source of the problem. He elaborated on the issue stating ‘My only complaint about Jimmy Fallon is the first name: Jimmy. People get us mixed up all the time. No one remembers which Jimmy is which. Actually, he says the same thing happens to him.’
That revelation was made as part of an interview he gave for the April issue of Esquire. Kimmel also claimed his name Jimmy has given him some trouble in the past.
Prior to hitting TV screens, Kimmel worked in radio and went by the name of Chris to avoid confusion, as there were two other disc jockeys called Jimmy.
As for Fallon, Kimmel seems to have the utmost respect for him. Kimmel describes him as a true performer with multiple talents, while he refers to himself as just a broadcaster, although most will agree he’s got a great sense of humor.
