A British man recently landed in hot water after a dispute about his dead mother got out of hand. 42-year-old Andrew Salmon became furious when his wife, Beverley Anne Salmon started signing the Wizard of Oz tune, ‘Ding Dong, The Witch Is Dead’ following her in-law’s death.
On February 6th Andrew packed up all of Beverley’s belongings and left them on the ground outside. He also closed the curtains and locked the doors so she couldn’t get in their home.
It’s not clear what happened next, but at some point during the fight, Andrew put his wife in the shed and locked her inside. She was able to escape and used her key to gain entry inside the house.
Andrew attempted to drag her out, but he caused Beverley to slip and fall. She then ran upstairs, where Andrew allegedly threw her on the bed, tore open her shirt and placed his arm across the throat, which made it difficult for Beverley to breathe.
He also grabbed and twisted each of her breasts. Andrew later admitted to police that he hit his wife and said he had been depressed over his mother’s death and his wife’s lack of support.
In court, Andrew pleaded guilty to assaulting his spouse and expressed regret over his actions.
