Los Angeles prosecutors have arrested Gabriel Campos-Martinez for the gruesome murder of his live-in boyfriend, whose body parts were found scattered near the Hollywood sign two years ago, according to a KTLA 5 report.
Two women walking with their dogs along a trail in LA's Griffith Park in early 2012 stumbled across a plastic bag containing the severed head of missing person, Coronado Medellin.
Six months prior to his disappearance, the 66-year-old had moved into an apartment with Campos-Martinez, 38.
Authorities believe Medellin, who died of asphyxiation, was killed on or around December 27, 2011, and was likely strangled to death.
Campos-Martinez started a new life after the death of his boyfriend, moving to San Antonio, Texas in 2012 and getting married to a woman.
Police conducting a two-day search of the park where the severed head was found, discovered more body parts, including hands and feet.
Campos-Martinez faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
