A video is currently circulating online and it’s generating quite a bit of attention. The clip shows a group of BMX riders jumping or bunny hopping over sleeping homeless people on a sidewalk in Los Angeles.
The footage has sparked a lot of anger among Netizens. Much of the hostility is directed towards Adam Grandmaison, who is the owner of a local bike shop.
Grandmaison shared the video on his business’ social media page and from there, things quickly got out of hand with tons of comments from Netizens who deem the behavior as inhumane. Grandmaison claims the riders in the clip are his friends.
He also pointed out they’re professional riders and never put the homeless people in any danger, as their jumps were high enough to give plenty of clearance.
The video was shown to other down-on-their luck folks who frequent the downtown area of L.A. called Skid Row, which is where the bunny hopping stunt was pulled. The reaction was shock and frustration at the lack of regard for human life.
An LAPD officer even expressed outrage at the video and referred to it as ‘disgusting’. Grandmaison maintains his views on it and says nobody was hurt. He is refusing to remove the footage from his Facebook page.
