2014/03/12. Salarian Infiltrator is my favourite character since February 2012 (demo ME3). I had been choosing this character for about 90% of the games, before DLC Retaliation arrived. I did my first platinum solo with him in 2012. His inseparable companion was M-98 Widow, actually they are just like old marriage. I know, that for example Black Widow is more efficient, but i prefer old school: one shot - (mostly) one kill; and during reloading weapon, I have time to look around to recognize situation.
Almost every combination for platinum solo of location and enemy is a piece of cake for Salarian Infiltrator, so just to raise the bar, I chose one of the toughest: Collectors on his homeworld.
The real challenge was 8th wave. Two primes and their toys could stun You on at least 80% of the space of the map, not to mention about rabid praetorian hunting for your head. I had three ideas, how I could deal with this hellish wave. First option, I could take Cylonic Modulator IV at the expense of Adrenaline Module III, but then my manoeuvrability would've plummeted and I needed it extremely badly for my winning strategy. Second option, I could use two or three Cobra missiles and pray for an easy mission on 10th wave. Well, that would be very unwise. Third option, I could resign from responder loadout and take extra cobras. The third option proved to be the winning one.
Unexpectedly, at the first three attempts wave 4th showed itself to be exhausting. Banshee's powerful biotic projectiles could hit you literally from nowhere. Another surprise was that after the combo of tactical cloak + energy drain + headshot marauders and captains didn't die, they stayed with less that 200 health points. I repaired this mistake by replacing Sniper Rifle Rail Amp III with Targeting VI III. Actually it was crucial decision that ensured my victory.
At the end I highly recommend you to watch last few minutes of 6th wave. I had devices mission and the last of them was on the worst location at firebase Jade. I showed there how to deal with it during solo raids.
