Don’t ever doubt the potential ferocity of a sweet looking kitty. A large feline in Portland, Oregon recently got way out of line and terrified its owners.

The 22-pound cat named Lux attacked a baby. Lux’s owners scrambled to a bedroom inside the home for safety and dialed 911 for help.

"It just went off, over the edge and we aren't safe around the cat. We're trapped in our bedroom. He won't let us out of our door." [KPTV]

Lee Palmer, Teresa Barker, the couple’s young son Jesse and even the family’s dog were forced to wait in the bedroom until police arrived, as they feared a confrontation with the nasty kitty.

When officers got there, they brought along a dog snare.
After the cat was behind bars, the family was told they could leave the bedroom. The baby only received a scratch from the feline’s fit of rage and did not require medical attention.

According to a Portland Police Bureau press release ‘The cat remained behind bars in the custody of the family and officers cleared the scene and continued to fight crime elsewhere in the city.’

The family is unsure what Lux’s fate will be and whether or not they will keep the black and white Himalayan.
