A judge in New York has dismissed the record fine imposed on oil giant Chevron in Ecuador as “riddled with irregularities”. Ecuador fined Chevron 9.5 billion dollars for environmental damage local indigenous tribes claim led to cancer and other illnesses. The judge ruled evidence had been forged and the Ecuadorian judge bribed.
