U.S. urges immediate deployment of U.N. monitors to Ukraine

Interim Ukrainian President Oleksander Turchinov puts the army on full combat alert after Russia approved sending troops into his country.

The announcement has spurred diplomatic efforts to resolve Ukraine's crisis.
