Over centuries of coexisting, malamute and husky dogs have developed an instinct to draw large, dangerous animals away from their human friends and their home.

“Malamutes and huskies will try and worry an animal. See, she’s on the other side of it trying to make it chase her away from us. They have this natural tendency to worry a big bear away from human beings,” explains the cameraman.

Gene Cornelius posted this video in 2012 of a malamute barking and annoying a giant moose until it gave chase after her away from her owners, but the clip has only gone viral now.
