A young pitbull was recently thrown out of a moving vehicle on Long Island. The horrible incident occurred at a little after 9 on a recent Wednesday evening.
A witness reported seeing the dog thrown out of the driver’s side passenger window of a dark colored 4 door pickup truck. The male animal reportedly struck the ground. He then turned and tried to catch up to the truck he had been tossed from.
The witness checked if the dog was hurt and the terrified animal jumped in the Good Samaritan’s vehicle. The canine was clearly in distress and he encountered head injuries.
He also has healed scars on his face from what appears to be previous forms of abuse. Because of the severe injuries, the animal is now being cared for by a veterinarian.
The Suffolk County SPCA has put up a reward of $2,000 for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those who threw the dog from the moving vehicle.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk SPCA stated ‘This is a blatant act of Animal Cruelty and we will do everything we can to see that those responsible are apprehended.’
