The votes are in and Ukraine's parliament says President Viktor Yanukovich is out.

Celebration ensues as the Ukrainian parliament impeaches their president and sets early elections for May 25.

The impeachment comes after days of deadly fighting that saw 77 people killed.

Yanukovich called his impeachment a coup and defied calls for his resignation.

"I'm not going to leave Ukraine or go anywhere. I'm not going to resign. I'm a legitimately elected president. I was given guarantees by all international mediators which I worked with - that they are giving me security guarantees. I will see how they will fulfill that role."

Yanukovich and the opposition had signed a deal Friday to end the bloodshed and hold elections.

After Saturday's impeachment, Yanukovich compared events in his country to the rise of the Nazis in Germany.
