Crash Tag Team Racing review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Crash Tag Team Racing for the PlayStation 2 developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Sierra Entertainment.
When a kart racer and a platformer have a head-on “crash,” the result is Crash. Released in 2005, Crash Tag Team Racing is a racer/platformer hybrid. The game is structured similarly to Super Mario 64, with missions scattered around 3D hub worlds. The only difference is that the missions are races, which is as crazy as it sounds. As a result, Crash Tag Team Racing is really two games in one—there’s both platforming and racing, each separate from the other. The game has eight playable characters, including Crash Bandicoot, Crunch Bandicoot and Pasadena O’Possum. There are also several unlockable outfits for each character, which can be purchased using coins collected in the hub worlds. The game also introduces a racing mechanic called clashing, which allows you to go Megazord and combine vehicles with a nearby opponent. This gives you a tank-like vehicle equipped with missiles. Kind of helpful in a game about blowing up other vehicles. Crash Tag Team Racing is a single and multiplayer game.
