Reportedly, BMW 3-Series GT made its debut in India amidst the huge fanfare of Delhi Auto Expo. However, the Bavarians had priced it for Rupees Forty two point seventy five lakh ex-showroom India. The aforesaid BMW is the diesel-trim of model plate; whereas the carmaker has stated the plan of launching its petrol variants by the end of twenty fourteen.
Confronting facts, diesel GT is been powered by a twin turbocharged, two point zero liter, four cylinder diesel engine of one eighty four bhp and three eighty Nm of torque. With its top speed slated at two twenty six kmph; the 0 to 100 kmph time is recorded in 7 point 9 seconds.
Hence, BMW confirmed it to be producing the 3-Series GT here in India at its Chennai facility.
On comparison, the GT is longer by 110mm than the 3 Series sedan. The goodness of 520 litres boot space can be further bettered to a cavernous 1600 litres by folding down the split rear seats. To its easiness, the Germans have given it the huge bootlid like the one on Skoda Superb.
