Go beyond the lace and into the locker room with The Story from the Dallas Desire @ LA Temptation game!
As most LFL analysts are already awarding the 2010|2011 Western Conference championship to the Heather Furr led Chicago Bliss and declaring the new-look San Diego Seduction as the new Southern California powerhouse, the 2010 LFL World Champion Los Angeles Temptation reminded the LFL world they are the reigning champs with a 40-6 slaughter of the Dallas Desire.
The night's pre-game ceremonies included Hollywood celebrities, a 4th of July like fireworks show, members of the 2009 | 2010 LFL championship team, the unveiling of the Lingerie Bowl championship trophy/banner and the recently named 2011 Lingerie Bowl master of ceremonies Robin Leach coin-toss getting the thousands of fans who braved the cold weather charged-up.
Despite a slow start, Rookie of the Year candidate Ashley Salerno led the Temptation offense with 7:43 left in the 1st Half on a 7 play 40 yard drive capped by 6yd dive-into-the-endzone Melissa Marguiles touchdown run to go up 6-0. The star-studded Dallas offense was equally as impressive, in fact, the Desire actually out-gained LA's offense for 84yds. 1st Half yards to LA's 55yds. While the Dallas offense moved the chains it was seemed like groundhog day once they got into the Redzone stauling out drives whether it was horrible play-calling, turnovers or ill-advised penalities the offense could not get on the scoreboard. In contrast, Los Angeles took advantage of its Redzone opportunities finishing off the 1st Half with a Nikki Lee 13yd touchdown pass from Salerno to go up 13-0 at the half.
As Dallas' season came down to one half of football the choas and yelling in the locker room at halftime made it clear that this team was in self-destruct mode, again.
