Ukrainian protesters attacked the headquarters of President Yanukovich's party on Tuesday, throwing a molotov cocktail and hurling stones inside the building.
In the worst violence to rock the capital Kiev in more than three weeks, several thousand anti-government protesters clashed with police as they tried to approach Ukraine's parliament.
A smaller group headed to the headquarters of Yanukovich 'Party of the Regions'. They set fires around the building and threw a molotov cocktail inside. The occupants of the building replied by dousing water on the protesters. The protesters also attacked two cars as they left the compound.
Yanukovich has been battling the opposition-led street protests since he walked away from a trade pact with the European Union in November and opted instead for forging closer economic ties with Russia, Ukraine's Soviet-era master.
