Veteran Actress "Anjali Devi" Passes Away - RIP

Anjali devi Veteran Telugu Actress passed away on this afternoon at Vijaya hospital in Chennai. She is 86 and is survived by 2 sons. Film fraternity saddened by the sudden death of actress Anjali Devi. She was once renowned as the mythological actress as she shot to fame with her role Sita in lava kusha in 1963. She debuted with a small role Lohitasya in Raja Harishchandra (1936) and she became a heroine with L.V.Prasad's Kashtajeevi (1940).
Later she rose to fame with many Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films. Entirely she acted in 500 films. She got married to then prominent music director P. Adinarayana Rao and has two sons. She founded a production company called Anjali Pictures and produced many films in Telugu during her activity as a producer.
Her role Sita in Lava Kusha brought her adulation and glory in 1963. She was last seen in the movie big boss in 1995. As she suffering from cardiac problems, was admitted to Vijaya Hospital in Chennai recently where she breathed her last. She acted with Top heros such as NTR, ANR.
Anjali won Filmfare Award several times for Best Actress. She was also the recipient of Raghupathi Venkaiah Award (2005) and was conferred the Ramineni Award (2006), apart from receiving several other honors.
