Tragically, a pregnant woman, who had everything to look forward to, lost her life after being struck by a snowplow. The 36-year-old female, identified by police as Min Lin, was running errands during a recent snowstorm.
She had been in the parking lot of a Brooklyn grocery store. Lin and her husband were loading supermarket bags into the back of their vehicle when she was unexpectedly hit by the plow.
Police claimed the equipment used to plow the parking lot was a Bobcat machine. A 42-year-old man had been operating it in reverse at the time of the incident.
Lin, who was 8 months pregnant was rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors immediately went to work and performed an emergency c-section.
Despite all the life saving efforts, Lin passed away at the facility. The baby boy miraculously survived. He is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
Lin’s husband was not injured. No arrests have been made in the case. Law enforcement has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident.
