Trace Adkins falls off wagon; scuffles with impersonator

Country singer Trace Adkins, who had publicly discussed past struggles with alcohol, fell off the wagon during a country music-themed cruise to the Caribbean, then scuffled with an impersonator before checking himself back into rehab this week.

The 6'6" tall 'Ladies Love Country Boys' singer, who has also dabbled in TV and movies, was signed on to perform during this year's Country Cruising tour, a seven-day trip aboard the Norwegian Cruise Line Pearl. The ship left port in Miami on Sunday and when it docked in Jamaica on Wednesday, Adkins disembarked and is now reported to be in a rehab center to treat alcohol abuse.

Exactly what transpired during the incident is not clear. Reports say Adkins went into a bar where his impersonator was performing karaoke. Adkins and his look alike started fighting physically, though it has not been reported what the dispute was about.
Adkins jumped ship before his scheduled performance, leaving some fans who had paid thousands of dollars to take the cruise disappointed. The lineup included country stars such as Wynonna Judd and Montgomery Gentry.

Adkins had been sober for more than a decade before the incident. In 2002, his third wife, Rhonda, and his daughters, staged an intervention and the singer successfully sought received treatment.
