Facebook death? Man electrocuted after climbing tree to snap sunset photo

2014-02-12 1

A Southern California man died on Saturday shortly after posting a picture of the Sunset on Facebook.

Twenty-eight-year-old David Strohm had positioned himself in a tree in his backyard to get a good picture of the sunset.

After he managed to post the picture on Facebook, he accidentally touched the power cable running through the tree and was electrocuted.

His body remained in the tree until his family went looking for him when he failed to return. They did not find him until the next morning when they noticed that his cellphone was under the tree.

Southern California Edison, the power company that own the utility poles around Strohm's house, says on their Website that trees should be planted away from powerlines, adding that trees situated under power lines should not exceed 40 feet in height.
