According to Japanese media reports, the newest Yankees pitcher chartered the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Japan to New York. It seats 200 passengers, but only five people and a dog were on this flight. Even with the luxury of his own airliner, Tanaka did not escape the weather-induced misery, with his journey from a Tokyo hotel to the airport by car taking eight-and-a-half hours.
Despite flurries of cancellation of flights to New York, Masahiro Tanaka has reportedly spent $195,000 on jet for flight to catch up with schedule. His outstanding crisis-management skills really stun the general public.
More than 100 members of the media were ready and waiting at John F. Kennedy International Airport. However, reporters just saw his cabin baggages. Tanaka and associates are said to leave the airport from the gateway for crew member uses. Yankees will hold a press conference for the introduction of the new player on Tuesday afternoon local time.
