Philip Seymour Hoffman remembered by family and friends

Family and friends attend a private funeral in New York for the actor Philp Seymour Hoffman who died, aged 46, of an apparent drug overdose.

Philip Seymour Hoffman's family and friends arrived at a Roman Catholic church in Manhattan to attend the actor's funeral.

Mr Hoffman, 46, was found dead on Feb. 2 of an apparent heroin overdose in his apartment.

He had spoken openly about a past that included addiction and rehab. He leaves behind his partner of 15 years, Mimi O'Donnell, and their three children.

A larger memorial service is being planned for later this month.
