These Tokyo residents are back out on the streets and braving the cold after the worst snowstorm in 13 years.

A severe snow storm warning was issued in the Japanese capital on Saturday.

Hundreds of flights were cancelled, roads closed and some train services suspended.

Local media reports that at least 550 people were injured because of snow-related accidents.

People are now shovelling the snow from roads after twenty-seven centimetres fell.

And weather forecasters warn that more snow can be expected in eastern Japan in the coming days.
