Horny screaming pig prompts police call

2014-02-07 10

Early last week, police in the town of China, Maine, were called after a woman said she heard screams from the house next door. Fearing a case of domestic violence, four Maine State Troopers responded to the report and visited the home in question.

After finding the female homeowner apparently alone and in good condition, officers inquired about the loud sounds reportedly coming from her home. The homeowner explained that she raised pigs and had not long before, placed a male pig in a pen with five sows in heat.

The excitement of being given five sows to mate with was simply too joyous an occasion for the male pig, whose squeals of carnal delight were mistaken for screams of terror.

Police said that they found no evidence of "assault or disturbance at the home, aside from the screaming pig." No charges were filed against the home/pig owner.

The incident occurred on the evening of January 27th on Hanson Road in the town of China, Maine, and was first reported on by the local online paper, The Online Sentinel, before being picked up by publications around the world.

Veterinarians say pigs are quite fond of the mating process and can have marathon sessions, during which females can spend as long as 30 minutes in the throes of pleasure. Male pigs are able to enjoy their 'special moment' for as long as 10 to 15 minutes, a fact likely envied by many human males.
