Thailand’s opposition is to challenge the weekend’s disputed election in court on Tuesday.
It comes as the Election Commission is investigating possible campaigning irregularities.
As anti-government protesters again took to the streets, the opposition Democrat Party which boycotted the election is to file two complaints with the Constitutional Court.
It alleges that the prime minister’s party tried to grab power through unconstitutional means, and also wants to challenge the decision to declare a state of emergency.
Despite the protests, the election is highly likely to return caretaker prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra to power.
Voting passed off generally peacefully on Sunday, with no repeat of the previous day’s violence in Bangkok.
But the protesters want to overhaul a political system they say has been exploited by the prime minister’s exiled brother, former premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
