The electronics industry needs vast quantities of raw materials, a large proportion mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo, home to more than two-thirds of the world's deposits of coltan, vital for the production of capacitators for mobile phones, tablet computers, PCs, digital cameras and game consoles.
