A woman in her 30s and her mother in her 50s filed a complaint against a long-established Japanese hot spring hotel for poor service. The hotel, famous for its access to the Takedao hot springs, has been open for many decades in the Kansai area.
The pair accused the establishment of forgetting to roll down the bamboo blinds in the women's section in a public, leaving the pair exposed while naked. This has caused the daughter great mental anguish.
The victims went to the bath at 3 p.m. and spent thirty minutes bathing. The pair realised that the blinds over the window hadn't been pulled down only as they walked out of the bath.
They complained to the hotel's owner about the embarrassing mistake. The hotel immediately apologised and offered a 10,000 yen ($100) discount on their accommodation fees. However, the pair declined the offer and left the hotel.
The daughter later developed symptoms of depression, including stomach pains and insomnia. The victims claim they were worried that someone could sneak photographs of them while they were naked and distribute them on the internet.
The hotel obviously did not meet their obligation to their customers. However, the hotel said that they tried their best to apologise for the mistake. They also couldn't believe the mother and daughter bathed for thirty minutes before realizing that the blinds hadn't been drawn. The hotel is challenging the matter in court.
It must have been a shock to the single woman. What do you think of the hotel's response?
