Margaret Tally is obsessed with her favorite author, Barret Edy, where fantasy and fiction are merged into Tally's reality. Edy's published books ended in a cliff-hanger where his detective, Trent Garret, is left in the hands of evil Russian mobsters about to have his thumbs sawed off. Talley simply cannot live without knowing the outcome. She found the book dealer, George Spoetzl, who owns Edy's last unpublished bound books and unpublished manuscripts. Spoetzl is travelling to a book show in Atlanta and he agrees to meet Talley at the Motor Court to swap books. The book dealer is willing to trade Edy's unpublished material for some 1970's pornography Talley says she has. The obsessed reader can barely contain herself in the presence of the coveted Edy works. Spoetzl soon finds out Talley doesn't actually have the books he wants. Being broke Talley must improvise a trade and offers to barter her body to acquire the books she desires.
"We must rescue the Barret Edy work, whatever the cost," says the desperate Talley. "A fate worse than death!"
"Yeah!" says Spoetzl. "I can do that!"

Director, Ricky Hess and Cinematographer, Donovan Henneberg-Verity innovated using points of view and timing that Alfred Hitchcock audiences may recognize. Hess and Verity created their living black and white thriller in vibrant color. The artists experimented by painting the set and costumes with only tones of black, white and grey leaving only the actor's natural skin for colorization. The contrasting visual shock emphasizes human vitality and frailty.
