The bill for Jodi Arias’ defense fees has topped $2.1 million, an amount that Arizona taxpayers will have to pay — and will only clime with a new penalty phase that begins in March. Arias, 33, was convicted of killing boyfriend Travis Alexander in May 2013, but the jury couldn’t reach a unanimous decision on the verdict.
