This certification class series contains useful tools to provide comprehensive treatment to people suffering with depression. These tools can help Mental Health Professionals treat their clients, and are also designed to help individuals who are seeking help in preventing or managing their own depression. They are also suitable for relatives or friends of depressed people—to help them understand the situation and how they can assist.

The class series consists of 14 exercises that help people to
•pinpoint the sources of depression
•identify things that can perpetuate and escalate it
•practice specific actions to manage and control it.

Each exercise is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and introduces a new skill to help understand and overcome depression cycles.

Purpose of this Course

This class will help Mental Health Professionals improve treatment for people suffering with depression, and help people that want to learn how to manage their depression.

Through examining their beliefs, perceptions of situations, and their typical responses to these situations, people suffering from depression receive a new perspective. This course provides tools to lead people to an increased understanding of their depressive tendencies as well as tools to prevent depression where possible and manage it where it's not. The goal is to steer people away from persistent negative thoughts and actions, and toward positive and confidence-building ones.

Number of Classes, Credits and Cost
The Certified CBT Depression Therapist curriculum breaks down into 7 classes and 25 hours of training. All seven classes must be finished in order to gain the certification title.
