A first class plane ticket can give you access to a whole bunch of luxuries. A man in China used that ticket to his advantage for a full year after the original, scheduled flight.

He had quite an elaborate and novel approach. He changed his flight itinerary roughly 300 times, in an effort to enjoy all the amenities.

Specifically, he got a thrill out of obtaining free drinks and meals in the VIP lounge at the Xi'an Xianyang International Airport in Shaanxi. He did just that almost everyday for a year and managed to go undetected for awhile.

His scheme was uncovered after the ticket’s validity was scheduled to expire and the man cancelled it for a refund. He may have gotten away with it all together if it hadn’t been for an alert China Eastern Airlines worker who found the male’s actions suspicious and decided to launch an investigation.

After some digging, his free meal plan came to light. In the end, however, the man seemed to get away with it, despite the fact that he got busted.

According to a spokesperson at the airline, there were no procedures in place to stop or even detect this type of under the radar behavior.
