A big announcement for a big night in Washington.
President Obama will announce during his State of the Union address that he will sign an executive order to raise the minimum wage for new federal contractors.

"What the President is doing is he's trying to push Congress, he's trying to push policy in the direction that he thinks is right and by raising the minimum wage for federal contractors he thinks that's at least a small step in the right direction."
The hike will raise the minimum wage for new federal contract workers to ten dollars and ten cents an hour.
