France's former first lady, Valerie Trierweiler says she is doing fine after her split from President Francois Hollande. She is now in India visiting hospitals saying she she felt "useful" doing charity work.

"I can't bare that some children have less fortune than others so we need to try to give to each and everyone more chances. Many children suffer from malnutrition in India and that is why I am here today, thank you."
The break-up of the couple, who were not married, was confirmed Saturday by Hollande, who said in a curt statement he had "ended his partnership" with the 48-year-old journalist.
