Fired ravaged a centuries-old ethnic village in south-west China, destroying more than 100 homes on the weekend, state media reported.
The blaze broke out late on Saturday (January 25) in Baojing Dong village of Guizhou province, and took more than four hours to put out, according to official Xinhua news agency.
The village, built 300 years ago, was one of China's most complete settlements of the Dong ethnic minority, known for its well-preserved dwellings, it added.
Nearly 2,000 residents lived in the village but no casualties have yet been reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, it said.
A separate blaze on January 10 destroyed more than 100 traditional wooden homes in the ancient Tibetan village of Dukezong in the popular tourist destination of Shangri-la county of Yunnan province, also in the south-west.
