C'est fini. It could be the end for French President Francois Hollande and "first lady" Valerie Trierweiler -- at least according to France's Journal du Dimanche.
The national weekly says a split is imminent and a press release is expected from the Elysee Palace.
A spokesman for the president declined to comment on the report.
Hollande is reportedly eager to settle the Trierweiler issue before she departs for a charity trip to India on Sunday.
Chatter about the state of France's first couple has consumed the headlines - especially in the wake of a magazine story alleging Hollande has been seeing film actress Julie Gayet.
Trierweiler was admitted to the hospital shortly after news of a possible affair came out. While the pair are not married, she has served as France's first lady for official functions.
