Obama announces efforts to reduce sexual assaults on campuses, military

In his weekly web and radio address, U.S. President Barack Obama discusses the importance of efforts reduce sexual assaults at college campuses and in the military.

He says his administration is stepping up its efforts to protect young women at college campuses from sexual assault.

"An estimated one in five women is sexually assaulted at college, and that's totally unacceptable," he said.

The president also raised the issue of sexual assault in the military.

"We're going to keep combatting sexual assault in our armed forces," Mr. Obama said.

He concluded his remarks talking about addressing young men, saying, "We've especially gotta teach young men to show women the respect they deserve."
