Pre-war photographs, sent to relatives overseas, often miraculously survived, unlike their owners.
My family, too, was almost completely annihilated. They left not even photographs behind.
For a long time, I have been considering how to express the enormity of my loss. Surrounded by the multitude of pictures, documents, books and films created over the last half century, I had to find for myself some other form of expression.
And so I developped the idea of an album without a single photo.
