In this guitar lesson, I´m going to teach you one of the most known riffs of all times. I´m talking about the guitar riff from the song `Smoke on the water´ by Deep Purple. It´s based in 2 note chords formed by the 5th as the bass note and the root.
A riff is the part of the song that you will remember, it can be done with pentatonic, major or minor scales... it depends of the song and the context. They are usually played with some drive or distorted tone.
