American Civil War: Battle of Lovejoy's Station

During the American Civil War, General William Tecumseh Sherman ordered Hugh Judson Kilpatrick to lead a group of Union Soldiers through Georgia to destroy supply lines and railroads. On August 20th of 1864, Kilpatrick and his men would attack Lovejoy's Station in Clayton County. Confederate infantry under Patrick Cleburne retaliated and a battle would ensue. This became known as the Battle of Lovejoy's Station. Come learn a little history about this battle in today's episode from That Was History.
