Bioshock infinite has just been released in my region so I took a look at the options menu and the start of the game.
PC Gameplay Options
First the gameplay options menu is good. You can turn off mouse acceleration and there is a field of view slider. Here is a screenshot of some of the options available:
PC Graphics Options
The graphics options are very detailed allowing for significant scaling across systems. V Sync can be turned off but it is disguised as "Lock Frame rate . Here is a screenshot of some of the options available:
Is the Gameplay Smooth?
For anything I say you have to remember I have no idea about how it works on systems other than mine. I have an intel i7 and a nVidia GTX 660. On my system most of the time the game ran smoothly at around 70 fps on ultra which is the highest graphics setting. However, in the outside area I did notice some frame rate drops and occasional very short freezes (which are more obvious in the video above).
Other than that the game is very pretty and so far seems fairly similar to Dishonored. However, you have to remember this is not a review since I have only played about 20 minutes. The colours are very pretty and the lighting effects are nothing short of beautiful.
