While the idea of eating cats may sound disgusting to you and I, some people think of them as delicacies.

Chinese activists recently prevented the deaths of nearly 3,000 cats.

Approximately 30 people joined forces and blocked a roadway in Wuhan. They spent an entire night standing together to form a human barrier until reinforcements arrived the next day.

The activists stopped a truck carrying 2,800 felines headed south to Guangxi and it’s currently believed all the cats were going to be sold to restaurants where they would in turn be cooked and served.

The protest occurred through January 14thand 15th. The scene garnered the attention of local police. Once the cops began investigating the problem and conversing with the driver of the truck, they learned the quarantine license for the cats was fake.

According to the Animal Protection Association Center, there was not enough room at the organization to take in the vast amount of cats. It’s hoped somehow the felines will receive loving homes.

The truck driver is currently being investigated.
