It's best to take product advertising with a grain of salt.
A 26-year-old man named Anthony Olatunfe became fed up after purchasing Close-Up brand toothpaste for 7 years without getting the desired effect. And that's in the form of having freshly smelling breath that attracts the ladies.
Olatunfe is so frustrated, he’s decided to file a lawsuit against the company behind the paste, Unilever Nigeria Limited or UNL for short.
The plaintiff said “No girl ever agreed to even go out for a tea or coffee with me, even though I’m sure they could smell my breath. I always brush my teeth with so much close up gel to make sure the girls get turned on by my fresh breath as they usually show on TV.”
Olatunfe’s biggest issue with the company is that Close-Up ads showcase women flocking to a man after he brushed his teeth with the product. Olatunfe has given the court all of his used tubes of the toothpaste as evidence. He also wants a lab test conducted.
He is accusing UNL of “causing him mental suffering” and “cheating” with false ads.
