You may want to watch where you toss that shovel full of snow.

A man in Peoria is now facing a hundred dollar fine after he flung some snow in the street. In Doug Haley’s own words, he simply “scattered” a little dusting of the cold substance in the road before plows came and did their typical swipes.

The problem is that somebody witnessed the slight snow dumping and reported him. Haley said he’s pretty sure he knows who it was, as and the nearby dweller got into a dispute about 9 years back involving a construction permit.

While it wasn’t a major spat, the two haven’t exactly been best buddies since then. The neighbor had also become publicly upset just before the shoveling incident when one of Haley’s kids allegedly tossed some white stuff off their property.

The next day an officer knocked on Haley’s door following a complaint from the neighbor.

The cop then wrote up an ordinance violating citation for pushing “snow onto roadway”. A police captain, ironically named Capt. Lisa Snow stated “The complaining party may have been just as dissatisfied with the outcome. These are judgement calls.”
