Police recently responded to a report that there was a man at the Des Moines International Airport riding the baggage carousel.

It's not the most exciting sight - suitcase after suitcase moving slowly around baggage claim. But you can count on someone to stir things up every now and then.

Police recently responded to a report that there was a man at the Des Moines International Airport riding the baggage carousel.

According to witnesses, the guy jumped on the belt and took a spin, crouching down at one point to clear the threshold into the luggage loading area.

A baggage handler confirmed that the joy rider had entered the workers-only area, which constitutes a breach of security.

By the time police arrived, the man had left the building but the people who’d seen his escapade were able to help track him down.

Law enforcement finally caught up with him while he was loading his bags into his car.

Upon being questioned the 27-year old said he’d done it on a dare.

Noticeably smelling of alcohol the man was further interrogated and also came clean about the fact that he’d been drinking.

He apologized to the police for his stunt and said that he “didn’t think it was going to be that big of a deal.”
