ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
The head of the Roman Catholic Church delighted worshippers on Monday when he carried a lamb on his shoulders at a nativity scene.
Pope Francis was visiting a nativity reenactment at the Church of St. Alfonso Maria dei Liguori in a Rome suburb when a 'shepherd' placed the animal around his neck.
The pontiff seemed delighted by the gesture.
Even the noisy squeals of a pig raised a smile from the pope.
The nativity event took place in celebration of the Epiphany - the day when the Three Wise Men visited the baby Jesus.
