Columnist Alli Reed set up a fake and what she called ‘loathsome’ dating profile on OKCupid in an attempt to prove men are not only attracted to looks, but ended up doing the opposite.

When she created the account she used the photo of a model friend, but the information section was, thankfully, pure fiction.

She started by giving her pretend eligible bachelorette the handle AaronCarterFan, as a nod to the woman’s unfaltering love for the troubled former teen sensation.

In the about section, under smoking she chose ‘when drinking’ and under drinking specified ‘often’.

For fun, the fictitious date-seeker lists knocking coffee out of homeless people’s hands.

Other jewels include her passion for keeping America American and her preference for rich men.

The profile elicited over 150 responses from eager men on the first day.

Assuming that those who did respond simply either didn’t read or understand the profile, Reed employed further attempts to deter desire. Among them were responding with messages laden with promises of certain doom.

When the responses continued to grow, Reed finally gave up and said, “I did not accomplish my goal.”
