Approximately a year and a half ago, a male dog named Moxie was saved from the confines of a puppy mill by the organization, National Mill Dog Rescue. At that point in time, Moxie had already spent 12 exceptionally long years at the warehouse, but now he works with his owner to save other pooches.
A story recently came to light, highlighting one pooch’s very long ordeal living in a puppy mill and his subsequent adjustment to a happy, normal life. Approximately a year and a half ago, the male dog named Moxie was saved from the confines of a puppy mill by the organization, National Mill Dog Rescue.
At that point in time, Moxie had already spent 12 exceptionally long years at the warehouse. He was under a year old upon arrival. He was put in a tiny cage, which he was forced to share with numerous other dogs.
There were no windows in the building, leaving it completely dark. For over a decade, the Maltese never experienced the great outdoors, not once feeling grass or sunlight.
After the rescue organization removed the urine and filth covered Moxie from the mill, his jaw was essentially rotted. His feet were cut up from standing on wire his entire life.
Moxie was barely able to move. After receiving veterinary care, he slowly got healthier. Soon, he was adopted by a National Mill Dog Rescue team member.
He and his human mom now work together and have saved hundreds of other dogs form puppy mills.
