Rodman in North Korea to play basketball on leader Kim's birthday

Dennis Rodman is in the media spotlight again.

The outspoken retired American basketball player is in North Korea.

He travelled to the capital Pyongyang on Monday with a team of retired NBA players.

They're going to play an exhibition game of basketball to mark the birthday of leader Kim Jong Un.

Rodman departed for Pyongyang from Beijing, China and told reporters he doesn't intend to interfere with North Korean politics.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) FORMER NBA BASKETBALL PLAYER DENNIS RODMAN SAYING:

"That's not by job. I'm not a president, I'm not a politician, I'm not an ambassador. I'm just an athlete."

This is Rodman's fourth visit to North Korea.

He's usually been the guest of Kim, whose birthday is thought to fall on Wednesday.
