In this guitar lesson, Silvio Gazquez will teach you a cool part of the classic song Hysteria from Def Leppard. It´s the intro chords which are really simple to play. I always recommend beginners to learn first basic chords, then chord progressions and eventually entire songs. Rhythm guitar has an endless of possibilities, so let´s starts practicing!
Def Leppard is a rock band formed in 1977, in the UK and they are part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. The band´s longest line up consisted of Rick Savage, Joe Elliott, Rick Allen, Phil Collen, and Vivian Campbell.
The example of today´s lesson is a cool soft rock chord progression in D major, with a nice use of open strings. Also, for getting the right tone, it is really important to add some reverb and delay to your clean channel amp. That´s something commonly used in this kind of power bands from the 80s. Enjoy it!
Ok, hope this helps and don´t forget to come up with your own ideas, which is the best advice for starting to find `your´ unique sound and style. That is all for today... Also I suggest that you keep enjoying and learning from Silvio Gazquez and all the staff of Guitarcontrol.com! Where? In our free guitar lessons at www.youtube.com/guitarcontrol
