There are some people who really shouldn’t serve as role models for children. A couple in Brevard County proved to be the wrong influence on an unidentified teenager, who was said to be related to the pair and under their care.
According to reports, Rusty and Kim Johnson, from Rockledge, Florida, forced the adolescent to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana. The beer and cannabis binge occurred within a two day period.
During that time frame, the couple allowed the teen to drive a vehicle, without a license and while high. The victim later told investigators all of them hallucinated while smoking the marijuana, which they reportedly did on four separate occasions.
The teen claimed to feel heavy pressure from the Johnsons to take part in their boozing and drugging sessions. It was so bad, the victim contacted another family member. Once alerted of the situation, that relative forwarded the story to police.
After cops did some probing, 41-year-old Rusty and 32-year-old Kim were arrested and charged with ‘contributing to the delinquency of a minor’ and child abuse.
The Rockledge Police Chief stated “It's troubling that relatives would think it's acceptable to provide an underage person the substances they provided them.”
